The Great River Energy Fridge Farewell Sweepstakes (the "SweepstakesÓ) begins April 1, 2010 at 12:00:01 a.m. Central Time ("CDT") and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CDT on August 31, 2010 (the "Sweepstakes Entry Period").
1. TO ENTER: During the Sweepstakes Entry Period, visit www.mnbrighterideas.com and complete the educational quiz regarding energy efficient refrigerators. Whether or not you provide the correct answer has no effect on your chance to win. The quiz is for educational purposes only. Upon completion of the quiz, follow the online instructions to register for a chance to win. You must register by 11:59:59 p.m. CDT on August 31, 2010 to be eligible for the Sweepstakes drawing. Limit of (10) ten total entries per person during the Sweepstakes Entry Period. You may only enter to win where you reside as a full-time resident and where you are a customer of one of the participating member cooperatives of Great River Energy. Limit of one prize per person/household. By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all respects.
2. SWEEPSTAKES ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of Minnesota and Wisconsin who are age 18 or older at the time of entry and who are customers of one of the participating member cooperatives of Great River Energy before April 1, 2010. Employees (and their immediate family and household members) of Great River Energy ("Sponsor"), its participating member cooperatives, and their respective partners, parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, distributors, and advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible to enter or win. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Void outside of MN, WI and wherever restricted or prohibited by law. By entering, you agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and Sponsor's independent representative, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
3. RANDOM DRAWING: One (1) Grand Prize winner and up to twenty-eight (28) First Prize winners (one for each of the 28 participating member cooperatives) will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period by an independent representative of the Sponsor, whose decisions will be final in all respects. Drawings will be conducted on or about September 15, 2010. The (1) Grand Prize winner will be randomly selected from all the eligible entries. A First Prize will be awarded to one (1) eligible entrant corresponding to each participating member cooperative provided at least one entry is received for each cooperative; if no entries are received from customers of a participating member cooperative, the corresponding First Prize will not be awarded. Odds of winning the Grand Prize depends upon the total number of eligible entries received, and the odds of winning a First Prize depend upon the number of eligible entries received corresponding to each participating member cooperative.
4. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a $500.00 energy bill credit, issued by Sponsor in the form of a credit on the winner's energy cooperative bill. Approximate retail value ("ARV") of Grand Prize: $500.00. Up to twenty-eight (28) First Prize winners will each receive a $100.00 energy bill credit, issued by Sponsor in the form of a credit on the winner's energy cooperative bill. If a Prize cannot be provided as a credit on the winner's bill, it will be awarded in the form of a check payable to the winner. All decisions related to the Prizes are subject to Sponsor approval, who in its sole discretion will provide the Prizes. No transfer or cash substitution of a prize will be permitted (except at the discretion of Sponsor due to prize availability). The approximate retail value of all available Prizes is: $3,300.00. All taxes on prizes are sole responsibility of the winner.
5. NOTIFICATION: Potential prize winners will be notified by mail, e-mail or telephone on or about September 20, 2010. It is each entrant's sole responsibility to notify Sponsors if he/she changes his/her contact information.
6. WINNERS INSTRUCTIONS: Potential winners may be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and (where legal) Publicity Release and return it to the Sponsor's independent representative within ten (10) days of issuance. Failure to return all required documents properly completed and executed, or the return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable, and/or non-compliance with any portion of these Official Rules (including all eligibility requirements) may result in the potential winner being disqualified, and/or the prize being forfeited, and an alternate potential winner being selected. By accepting a prize, each winner agrees to the use by Sponsor and its designees of his/her name, photo and/or likeness in any advertising and/or promotion activities related to this Sweepstakes in any and all media now or hereafter known without further compensation, consideration, right of review or consent, except where prohibited by law. All local, state and federal taxes on prizes, and other expenses not explicitly stated herein, are the sole responsibility of the individual winners.
7. GENERAL: By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its member cooperatives, and their respective partners, parents, affiliates, divisions, subsidiaries, distributors, retailers, and advertising and promotion agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any and all claims, actions, and/or liability for injuries and/or damages of any kind sustained in connection with the Sweepstakes, and/or acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize awarded, or any related travel or activities. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, delayed, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, undelivered, late, garbled or corrupted entries, or any technical, computer, printing, human or other error of any kind relating to or in connection with this Sweepstakes. Released Parties are not responsible for phone, electrical, network, computer, transmission, server hardware or software program malfunctions, failures or difficulties, including, without limitation, delay in and/or inability to access the Web Site or any other web site associated with the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend this Sweepstakes should fraud, virus, bugs or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the game. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor will randomly award the prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to cancellation. Should multiple users of the same e-mail account enter the Sweepstakes and a dispute thereafter arise regarding the identity of the entrant, the authorized account holder of said e-mail account at the time of entry will be considered the entrant. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization which is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Automated entries are prohibited, and any use of automated devices will cause disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual (and all of his or her entries) who tampers with the entry process. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, participant's rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of State of Minnesota, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. In the event any dispute arises regarding the Sweepstakes, each participant agrees that such dispute shall be resolved in the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
